  • 2017-09-26:  HCC Crane Downtime Planned - Oct 3, 2017

    This maintenance outage for software updates affects Crane only. Jobs which cannot complete before October 3rd at 9:00am will be held in queue until the maintenance is complete. A follow-up announcement will be posted when the system is ready for production use.


    To minimize the impact to running jobs we are declaring a downtime for Crane to complete this work. We will use this maintenance window to update various software components across the cluster. The Crane login node will also be updated and will require users to log off. Users will be denied access to the Crane login node until the maintenance is completed.

  • 2017-09-29:  SANDHILLS planned outage 09/29/17 0600-0900

    Electrical work will be performed in SCHORR center between 0600-0900 on 9/29/17. There will be a complete power outage in the data center which includes the SANDHILLS cluster. All jobs running on the cluster will be killed. Service is expected to be restored by 0900.

    At 6:13am today, Crane experienced a failure of the core 10Gbps Ethernet switch. Service was restored at 11:03am. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    This outage affected communications between nodes (except for Infiniband or Omni-Path) and access to network filesystems. Jobs running at this time likely experienced errors, and we encourage you to review the output of jobs which ran during this time.
